Community

Diversity & Inclusion

Racism and bias are everywhere, but we cannot accept them. We must be willing to see it and acknowledge it and be willing to listen and learn. We need to understand how our biases hurt others. We will work together to gain a greater understanding to enable us to bring about progress and change.

Our first step is to look inwards. We need to make this a better place for everyone to work. We need to have a better environment for all our Guests:

  1. We are going to listen more deliberately and actively strive for a better understanding. We are introducing new ways for our Hosts to share feedback.
  2. We will work together to learn how to better respect each other and talk about uncomfortable things
  3. We will support our Hosts through this journey with resources to help them individually.

As we look inward at what we can improve, we will also look at what we can do in the Community. As a grocer, our giving has been centered on feeding the hungry and improving education. We understand poverty and lack of education are root causes for so many difficulties.

This is something that cannot be solved overnight. We are optimistic about the future because we know what we can do when we pull together as a Lowes Foods family and as Americans. History tells us we are far from perfect, but we can and will get better. We must reject the pressures that try to divide us and drive us toward anger or fear. Respecting each other and showing unity and support will continue to be the cornerstone of how we work together.

We will treat everyone we encounter as people worthy of care, concern, and dignity. We all have hopes and dreams for a brighter future, and together we can make that possible.

Community

Lowes Foods is proud to be a responsible and caring member of the communities in which we do business. We have a strong commitment to make them better places in which to live and work. One way we achieve that is by encouraging our employees to become involved in a wide range of community activities in the cities and towns where they work. We also support Non-Profit groups through donations. The charitable efforts of Lowes Foods are focused on areas that are closely related to our mission, such as eliminating hunger, promoting good nutrition, and educating children.

During the months of November and December, we hold the Friends Feeding Friends food drive to support Feeding America (formally known as Second Harvest Food Banks) and their member agencies in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

We participate in many other fundraising events throughout the year. We support hundreds of organizations through our Lowes Foods Gift Card Fundraising Program called Club Cash. To learn more about Club Cash and how your Non-Profit organization can raise funds by purchasing Lowes Foods gift cards at a discount, you can visit our Non-Profit Fundraising page.

Non-Profit organizations that are interested in partnering with Lowes Foods or would like to make a request for a donation may fill out an application.
